  • What type of collagen is more beneficial?

Collagen can come from terrestrial (bovine, porcine, etc.)or marine animals (from fish bones and skin and economical fish species). Their composition is very similar, meaning that we cannot actually say which one is better on the strength of this characteristic. The quality of collagen could be determined by the degree of hydrolysis (which will determine the amount of digestible collagen), not by its source. Colnatur hydrolyzed collagen is premium, high quality collagen where the long chains of protein collagen-which would normally be indigestible- are specially broken into shorter chains that can be absorbed entirely through the gut.

It is likely that the larger chains of unhydrolyzed collagen in cheaper collagen products are too big to be absorbed, so unlike the situation with Colnatur, only a proportion of will be available within the body.

The variability often associated with different formats of collagen can affect taste, sight, and smell of product, unlike Colnatur which has a quality and consistency guaranteed with every batch.
